Gaydar! Son Ye Jin

It all started with the Son Ye Jin, SNSD Yuri, and Han Ye Seul love triangle.

March/April rumor of SYJ/Yuri popping out on the net.
The topic of discussion these days is the talk of two popular actresses, A and B, who are both infatuated with F and are taking different approaches. A attended a party with F, allowing F to broaden her social network while B either calls F to her home or spends some "cozy time" with her in a car. B might be aware that A recently bought F a car. Both A and B have wrapped up their filming but both are disappointed because they cannot spend as much time as they'll like with F due to F's overseas promotions. B's entourage has said "B seems to be really lovestruck right now to the point that her filming is disturbed/her filming has been hard to focus on." An industry insider has also said "F isn't the type of person who can easily refuse and therefore hasn't been able to refuse both A and B's phone calls. At the moment she seems close with them both but no one's really sure of her true feelings."

A= Son Ye Jin
B= Han Ye Seul
F= Our one and only, the lovely Miss Kwon Yuri

At the same time it was discussed on k-gossip blogs/boards (i'm not sure, but i know we had k-netizen comments on it from that sort of thing). Their names popped up with each other, netizens were searching them like crazy - everyone was curious but no one was actually talking about it

Sport's Seoul published a similar article with the addition of HYS but quickly taken down.

SNSD's ACTUAL and LEGIT reaction when it came out:
The whole summary here:

Gay rumors.
Those two actresses have always been plagued by gay rumors. Han Ye Seul was even spotted in a gay bar plus a lot of hints have been dropped. If you go to www.naver.com and put in search bar which is Son Ye Jin's name and the first thing that popped up and with Yuri's name. Obviously people in Korea have been searching them up.
An SNSD member was also spotted at a gay bar but no one knows who went there since it's just a rumor. But we might not know it is really true that an member went there and her K-Sone stan knows but would not tell who it was.

Gaydar! JoKwon

Where do you begin with this guy? He’s willingly cross-dressed as a Girls’ Generation member and a Wonder Girls member. On Wild Bunny, he even went so far as to outglam that ugly lesbian hag Ga-In. When you see him on Star King and other variety shows, he might as well shit rainbows and sweat sparkles.
Add his flair for flamboyance with his campy expressions and it is impossible to not speculate about his sexuality. Seriously, these facial expressions scream!

Maybe it isn't nice to rumor monger, but seriously Jo Kwon, could you get any gayer? The other day he was on Happy Together 3 showing off his heels (which he also danced in for Animal). And his music video for I'm Da One... half of his sashays look like he is getting lessons from Ru Paul.
Part of the rumors came from a text message exchange from the two. It does sound a bit gay, but it could also just be bromance. It does get a bit sexual, though, talking about showering and stuff...

Need do I say More?

Gaydar! Brian Joo

He sure acts gay in variety shows and towards everyone. He’s pretty friendly with da dudes. In fact, he’s been in gay polls before so this shouldn’t have been a huge surprise. People even suggest he has lots of ‘good times’ with his ‘best friend’, Eru. However, the two main things that dispel the myth that he’s a flaming homosexual is

1) He’s a rabid Christian according to his personal Twitter and Facebook account — and homosexuality in Christianity is an instant no-no.

2) He really seemed to be enjoying hanging out with hot nurse chicks in a certain photo we saw on Asianfanatics (look it up yourself, we’re lazy).

Of course, this could all be for media press and he’s duping us all and he’s really doing undercover dancing with his pal, Eru. Or Fanny. Whoever is first on his list.

Gaydar! Key

We all saw SHINee’s Key coming on this list (hah! pun). While he doesn’t send my professional Gaydar off the charts like some other gullible fangirls, there is no denying he is just feminine. Likes pink, cute things, wears pink lipstick, takes special care to his hair, is all over his bandmates in general (especially Donkey Kong– Jonghyun, I meant) and is just all-around girly. My gaydar simply says he’s metrosexual.

I think Key straddles the fence. He’s the most traditional one out of all the SHINee members, most readily talking about his family– especially his grandmother. He’s the first one to talk about marriage, the first one to talk about having a family. He’s a very filial son, very devoted to a traditional model, which does not include homosexuality. For some people, culture and conformity can be stronger than personal desire; in this context, this is not a bad thing, it’s just simply a truth. Different people find happiness in different things. For some, it may be romantic love, for others, familial love, or even material lust. There are so many people with indifferent romantic lives, but have fulfilling family lives. It’s child’s naïveté to think that having a life partner is the single-most rewarding aspect of life. With Key’s strong gravitation towards traditional values, the allure of an atomic family could be even greater than having the perfect life partner. Whenever I think about all of the ‘questionable’ things Key does, I always think back to his traditional outlook. Tradition and culture are extremely, extremely strong influences.

Key is always lovingly referred to as a diva, which irritates me to no end. I doubt Key is actually referred to as a diva by Korean fans; it’s more of a Western invention, that connotes of homosexuality. In his early debut days, Key never really characterized as a diva (watch Flower Boys’ Generation); it’s hard to tell if his current personality is gradual morphing of his stage persona or the shining through of his true personality, because after all, shows are nearly always scripted. Even watching Hello Baby, I never got the impression that Key was particularly sassy a la diva, just rather blunt.

On variety shows, Key usually showcases his ability to perform girl group dances. I actually think it’s very smart from a marketing standpoint, because few male idols do girl dances, and Key is almost always performing alone and to great amusement of the audience. Moreover, SHINee was and is still marketed as the cute boys’ next door, so it was not a big stretch for Key to dance girl groups. Shindong from Super Junior regularly does girl group dances as well, and he’s actually engaged to a woman; the image of SHINee and Key’s ability to perform girl group dances mesh, unfortunately contributing to a Western outlook that he is, in fact, a diva.

Key is also attentive towards fashion, but that doesn’t mean anything. Many great names in fashion are straight: Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, Roberto Cavalli, Tommy Hilfiger, Max Azria, Elie Saab, Oscar De La Renta, Christian Lacroix. Gays and fashion are just meaningless stereotypes that nobody should pander to.

However, the one thing that does turn me over the edge towards homosexuality isJongKey interaction, and how it fits them so easily. Sometimes it seems like they could be a couple, or people that have been together for a very, very long time. I am not going to enumerate examples, you should just see it for yourself. It’s worth noting that Key never has the same level of chemistry with other non-SHINee members; nonetheless, that could be simply because a lot of it is off-screen. Sometimes I think that Key and Jonghyun would have tried, if they were not raised in South Korea– culture and tradition come full circle here.

Key straddles the fence, but for me, I think the overall outcome is clear. If he is of the homosexual persuasion, Key will never be open about it, and may go even as far as to marrying and having a family despite his sexual preferences. He’ll have a happy life as a husband and father with his wife and children. If Key is predominantly heterosexual, he’ll marry and have children, and be a happy husband and father.
